Cherry toast with pistachios and chocolate

I love summertime with all the fresh and beautiful fruits available. And we almost always have cherries in the house this time of the year since it seems like there is only few short months they are available in the grocery stores. We love eating them on their own, but we also love to create fun summer recipes with them. Like this cherry toast with pistachios and chocolate.

It feels decedent but yet healthy still. The flavors of the cherries pair so perfectly with the pistachios and chocolate chips. And the greek yogurt is mixed with chocolate protein powder to round out this tasty snack, dessert or breakfast.

This toast really simple to make and does not take much time. But here are some helpful tips for you for when are ready to whip this delicious sourdough treat.

  1. Make sure you fully remove the pits from the cherries before adding to them to this toast. You can either cut the cherries or you can use an easy tool that is designed to remove the pits for you. This is the fastest and easiest method.
  2. Use a good quality sourdough bread. All the tasty toppings are important but a good bread base is key. Also be sure it is nice and toasty so it can hold up to this loaded toast.
  3. You can use a little or much of the toppings on this toast. There really is not set amount, just follow your heart when creating cherry toast.
  4. For the greek yogurt, use one a brand that you enjoy and make sure it is plain. The chocolate protein powder will provide enough flavor and sweetness. But feel free to make it sweeter if needed with a little drizzle of honey when mixing the greek yogurt and protein powder together.

Cherry Toast with Pistachios and Chocolate

A sourdough toast loaded with fresh cherries, pistachios, chocolate chips and chocolate greek yogurt. A simple and easy summer toast that takes only a few minutes to prepare.

Ingredients
  

  • Sourdough bread toasted
  • Cherries pitted and cut in half
  • Pistachios roughly chopped
  • Chocolate chips
  • 1/2 C. Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop of your favorite chocolate protein powder

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt and chocolate protein powder together until fully combined. Spread the Greek yogurt on the toasted sourdough bread. Top with desired about of sliced cherries, pistachios, and chocolate chips. Enjoy!
