Brie and Apple Grilled Cheese with Honey Mustard Sauce

A grown-up grilled cheese with creamy brie, sweet apple, arugula, and a homemade honey mustard sauce. Perfect quick and delicious lunch.

Ingredients
 

  • 2 slices of Sourdough Bread
  • 1 Apple (sliced)
  • Brie Cheese (sliced)
  • Handful of Arugula
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Butter

Honey Mustard Sauce (recipe below)

  • Honey Mustard sauce:
  • 1 Tbsp. Hot honey (or regular honey)
  • 2 tsp. Olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp. Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 C. Mayo
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • o make the honey mustard sauce, combine all ingredients together in a bowl. Stir until fully combined.
  • To make the Brie and apple grilled cheese sandwich, spread the butter onto one side of each slice of bread. Flip the bread over, and on the unbuttered side, spread a generous layer of the honey mustard sauce on both pieces of bread. There will be left-over honey mustard sauce. Add a layer of sliced Brie cheese, and sliced apples on one slice of the bread over the honey mustard sauce. Place the bread slice on top, with the buttered side facing out.
  • Place the grilled cheese in a skillet over medium-low heat. Cover and let the bread get golden brown. Carefully flip and brown the other side of the sandwich.
  • Remove the sandwich from the skillet. Remove one of the pieces of bread and add a layer of arugula. Place the bread back on, and cut the sandwich in half if needed. Enjoy immediately!
