Chocolate Baked Donuts with Protein and Chocolate Glaze

These chocolate baked donuts are soft, fudgy, and ready in under 30 minutes. Made with protein powder and topped with a chocolate glaze.
Prep: 8 minutes
Cook: 12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cup (187 g) All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 Cup (27 g) chocolate protein powder
  • 1/3 Cup (29 g) Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 g) Baking soda
  • 1 tsp. (5 g) Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. (3 g) Salt
  • 1 tsp. (4 g) vanilla extract
  • 2/3 Cup (158 ml) maple syrup
  • 1 Cup (200 g) Greek yogurt (plain)
  • 1/3 Cup (79 ml) Milk (any percent)
  • 1/2 Cup (118 ml) Oil (such as avocado oil)
  • 2 eggs

Chocolate Glaze

  • 3/4 Cup (90 g) Powdered sugar
  • 1/4 Cup (21 g) Cocoa powder
  • 3-4 Tbsp. (45 g) Milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 12 donut tins well and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together and set aside.
  • In a separate large bowl, add the eggs, maple syrup, Greek yogurt, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  • Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Add the batter to a large ziplock bag and cut off one corner. Carefully pipe the batter evenly into each greased donut tin.
  • Bake for 9-12 minutes or until the batter is fully set and a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before removing the donuts from the pan. Transfer to a cooling rack.
  • Once the donuts are fully cooled, make the chocolate glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and 3 tablespoons of milk. Whisk until smooth. Add an extra tablespoon of milk if the glaze is too thick.
  • Dip each cooled donut into the chocolate glaze and set back on the cooling rack. Let the glaze set for a few minutes before enjoying.
