Chocolate Chip Banana Bread with Crumble Topping

A moist chocolate chip banana bread with a buttery crumble topping. This easy recipe comes together quickly and uses pantry staples. This banana bread makes for a delicious breakfast, brunch or snack.

Ingredients
 

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 C. (55 g) Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 C. (50 g) Sugar
  • 1/4 C. (60 g) Sour Cream
  • 1 tsp. (1 tsp.) Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 C. (120 ml) Oil
  • 2 C. (250 g) All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 3/4 C. (135 g) Chocolate Chips

Crumble Topping

  • 1/2 C. (63 g) All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 C. (55 g) Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 4 Tbsp. (60 ml) Butter (melted)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven 350 degrees F. Grease or line with parchment paper a 9x5 loaf pan.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, salt and baking soda. Whisk together and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the ripe bananas. Mash completely. Add the eggs, sugars, sour cream, oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until smooth.
  • Pour the dry ingredients into the wet and stir until just combined. Add the chocolate chips and fold into the batter.
  • To make the crumble topping, combine the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a medium bowl. Stir. Pour over the the melted butter and stir until fully mixed.
  • Add the banana bread batter to the loaf pan. Evenly spread the crumble mixture over the banana bread. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the batter is fully set and a tooth pick comes out clean when inserted into the center of the bread. Let the bread cool slightly before enjoying!
