Spiced Pear and Ginger Crisp Recipe

An autumn forward crisp with pears, fresh ginger, and warm spices. Perfect served with vanilla ice cream or greek yogurt.

Ingredients
 

  • 6 Pears (sliced)
  • 2 tsp. Fresh Ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 tsp. Cardamom
  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/4 C. Honey
  • 1 Tbsp. Flour

Topping:

  • 1 C. Old fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 C. Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 C. Butter (melted)
  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1/3 C. Brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine the sliced pears, fresh ginger, honey, cinnamon, flour, cardamom and vanilla extract together in a large bowl. Gently stir together until the pears are coated. Pour the pear mixture into a 9-inch round pie dish or 9-inch square baking dish.
  • To make the topping, add the oats, flour, cinnamon, salt, brown sugar and nutmeg together. Stir. Pour in melted butter and stir until combined.
  • Evenly sprinkle the topping over the pears. Place in the oven and bake for about 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy on its own, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or some Greek yogurt
