Spooky Halloween Eggs in a Hole with Parmesan and Chili Oil

A Halloween themed eggs in a hole with a garlic butter and parmesan cheese. The egg is topped with spicy chili oil. Perfect easy breakfast or brunch recipe for Halloween.
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 8 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. Butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Dried Oregano
  • 1/3 C. Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 slices of Sourdough bread or bread of choice
  • 2 Egg
  • Chili crisp
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the butter, garlic powder and oregano. Stir until combined. Spread the butter onto both sides of a piece of bread. Press the bread into grated Parmesan cheese, making sure to get both sides well covered.
  • Using a Halloween shape cookie cutter of choice (or any shape you want), cut the shape into the center of the bread. Make sure that you use a cookie cutter that fits your bread and all the edges of the bread remain connected. Remove the bread from the cookie cutter.
  • Heat a small drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the toast and the bread cut out. Once browned, flip both. Crack an egg into the center of the bread. Cover, reduce heat to medium low and cook at least until the egg whites have set. (Longer for personal preference of egg doneness). Remove from the skillet onto a plate. Gently add desired amount of chili crisp on top of the cooked egg as season with salt and pepper. Enjoy!
