Ingredients

Burger Patties

  • 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. Djion mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic powder

Red Wine Onions

  • 1 yellow onion (sliced)
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp. Red wine

Roasted Red pepper sauce

  • 2 roasted peppers from a jar (or 1 homemade roasted red pepper)
  • 1/2 C. Mayo
  • 1/2 of a lemon (juiced)
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the burgers

  • 2 burger patties
  • Red wine onions
  • Arugula
  • Brie cheese (sliced)
  • Roasted Red Pepper Sauce
  • 2 hamburger buns (lightly toasted if desired )

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a medium skillet. Add onion and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add red wine. Sauté on medium heat for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. The onions will be translucent when done.
  • While the onions are cooking, start making the roasted red pepper sauce. Place on the sauce ingredients into a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth. You can store the sauce in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  • To make the burger patties, add the ground beef, Dijon mustard, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper to a bowl. Mix until just combined. Form 2 burger patties. Cook the hamburgers using desired method (Grill, skillet or air fryer). The last 2 minutes of cook time, add the sliced Brie cheese. Add enough to cover the top of the hamburger, about 4 slices depending on the size of the Brie cheese slices and burger patties.
  • To assemble the burgers, spread a generous layer of sauce on the top and bottom buns. Add the hamburger to the bottom bun. Top with the red wine onions, and arugula. Place the top bun on top and enjoy!
